Pietro de Maria - a representative of the Italian aristocracy of the piano school, a great performer, a handsome man, conquered the Odessa audience with his unforgettable concert at the ODESSA CLASSICS-2019 festival. And now - a new meeting with the leading pianist of Italy.

He is the first Italian pianist to perform all the works of Chopin on the concert stage and record them at the famous recording company DECCA (13 discs).

Pietro de Maria was born in Venice in 1967. After receiving the Prize of the international press at the Tchaikovsky Competition (1990), the First Prizes at the competitions in Milan La Scala (1990), Geza Andes in Zurich (1994), and Mendelssohn in Hamburg (1998) followed. An active concert pianist, he performed with the best orchestras in the world and such conductors as Gary Bertini, Roberto Abbado, Daniele Gatti, Ton Coopman, Ingo Metzmakher, Marek Janowski, Alan Gilbert and many others. Pietro de Maria is a professor at the Academy of Santa Cecilia (Rome) and the University of Mozarteum (Salzburg).

Recently, Pietro de Maria plays Bach a lot, DECCA released his recordings of both volumes of “The Well-Tempered Clavier” and “Goldberg Variations”.
