“Romeo and Juliet” is not only about the tragic love of two very young people, but also about the conflict between competing families. The thirst of lovers for freedom is stronger than generic enmity and arbitrariness of rich parents.
The essence of a tragic conflict is an insoluble contradiction. The couple decides to die because their world cannot be changed. For relatives, their affection and deep feelings do not matter.
The parents belatedly reconciled - at the grave of the dead children, but in their words there is no awareness of their guilt.
