About event

Why is it worth going to the play "Our Town"?

1. To understand how complexity and simplicity go hand in hand with each other.
2. Enjoy an interesting director's production.
3. Think about important things.

The play "Our Town" is based on the play of the same name by Thornton Wilder, a famous American prose writer and playwright, three times Pulitzer Prize winner.

He received one of them just for this work. The play is written as a play within a play. The creators of the play define the genre of "Our Town" as "life in simple actions."

So, the action takes place at the beginning of the last century in the United States. Provincial town of Grovers Corners, New Hampshire. You are in your early 20s. You seem to be only making seemingly significant decisions. And then - again! And now you are 70. This means that it is already half a century since you became an editor or a lawyer. And this elderly woman who is next to you has shared more than 50,000 breakfasts, lunches and dinners with you.

In this performance "Theater on Tea" plunged into the life of ordinary families, of which there are many around. The everyday life that surrounds us, in which we all live with coffee, meals and an eternally burnt breakfast in a frying pan. Just a small town where simple little people live with simple little feelings, simple little dramas, simple little tragedies. Or maybe this "simple" and "small" is our entire planet, the entire solar system, the entire universe, the whole world?

The author himself described his work as follows: "Our Town" is a simple play, which contains all the complex themes. At the same time, it is a very complex play, where I tell with love about the simplest things of this world. ”The duration of the performance is 1.5 hours.
