The birthday of Alice, who has just returned from a two-year trip, gathers old friends in her apartment. The party seems predictable until a bloody necklace is found among the gifts. Attempts to understand who sent it and who it was intended for show that loyal wives, respectable housewives and quiet keepers of the family are not so sinless and a cruel crime can hide in the past of each of them.
